Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The 911 (except Manual/GT3) offers an optional Maneuvering Assist that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Vanquish doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

The 911 offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Vanquish doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the 911 helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The Vanquish doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the 911 and Vanquish offer rear cross-traffic warning, but the 911 with Rear Cross Traffic Alert also has Rear Cross Traffic Alert (automatically applies the brakes) to better prevent a collision when backing near traffic. The Vanquish’s Rear Cross Traffic Assist doesn’t automatically brake.

Both the 911 and the Vanquish have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

The 911 comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Vanquish’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The 911’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Vanquish’s (12 vs. 10 years).

There are almost 6 times as many Porsche dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the 911’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the 911 first among premium sporty cars in their 2025 Initial Quality Study. The Vanquish isn’t in the top three in its category.

The flat cylinder configuration of the boxer engine in the 911 lowers its center of gravity, enhancing handling stability. The Vanquish doesn’t offer a boxer engine configuration.

Regenerative brakes improve the 911 GTS/Turbo S’ fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Vanquish doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Porsche 911 higher (4 to 5 out of 10) than the Aston Martin Vanquish (2). This means the 911 produces up to 20.8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Vanquish every 15,000 miles.

The 911 offers a manual transmission for better acceleration, control and fuel economy. The Vanquish doesn’t offer a manual transmission.

The 911 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Vanquish doesn’t offer an SMG.

All wheel drive, available in the 911, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. The 911 Turbo S offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Aston Martin doesn’t offer an active suspension on the Vanquish.

The 911 has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The 911’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Vanquish doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

The 911 Coupe handles at 1.18 G’s, while the Vanquish Coupe pulls only 1.00 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The 911 is 1 foot, 1.9 inches shorter than the Vanquish, making the 911 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The 911 is 6.6 inches narrower on average than the Vanquish, making the 911 easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The front grille of the 911 uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Vanquish doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The 911 Cabriolet has a much larger trunk with its top up than the Vanquish Volante with its top up (10.4 vs. 7.7 cubic feet).

The 911’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The 911’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Vanquish’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

The 911 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Vanquish.

The 911 (except Manual/GT3)’s optional Active Parking Support can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Optional Remote ParkAssist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The Vanquish doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
